WHAT TO EXPECT
An 11-day epic experience in Mexico City, the Pacific ocean & Oaxaca getting to know the real Mexico, not as normal tourists but as true travellers, immersing ourselves into the local culture.

Day 1 – December 23
👉 Pick up from the airport
👉 Arriving in our hotel in Mexico City
👉 Meet & greet of the team – analyzing our 11-day itinerary and getting ready for the next day
👉 Spending the night in Mexico City
Day 2 – December 24
👉 9:30am-12pm: Walk in downtown Mexico City, exploring places like “Palacio de Bellas Artes” and the historic Zocalo greater area
👉 12:30-3pm: Visiting local food markets trying some of the most authentic mexican street food and if you’re feeling adventurous even some scorpions! (food not included)
👉 4-7pm: Ending the day with a walk in the city’s biggest park, Chapultepec – setting our intentions for the trip
👉 8-10pm: Grabbing a drink in Condesa, a more westernized area of Mexico City, getting a glimpse into how expats here live (food not included)

Day 3 – December 25
👉 3pm: Flying to Puerto Escondido
👉 5pm: Checking in to our hotel
👉 6-7pm: Visiting “Zicatela” beach for one of the best sunsets you’ll ever see
👉 7:30-9pm: Trying the best fish tacos in town at “Pepe’s” ! (food not included)
👉 9:30-11pm: Grabbing a drink in “La Punta” beach feeling the town’s laid back vibe (food not included)
👉 Spending the night in Puerto Escondido
Day 4 – December 26
👉 7-9am: Waking up very early to witness the local fishermen directly selling their fish to the locals by the beach, a unique opportunity to get a glimpse into the town’s local life
👉 10am-12pm: Taking the local collectivo taxi & visiting the local market – a true mexican experience! (food not included)
👉 1-5pm: Visiting arguably the most beautiful beach in town, “Carrizalillo” beach & spending the day there
👉 8pm: Grabbing a drink in “La Punta” beach (food not included)
👉 Spending the night in Puerto Escondido
Day 5 – December 27
👉 10am-3pm: Free time to go to the beach or relax
👉 4-7pm: A magical horseback riding experience through tropical jungle trails ending in a remote beach for an amazing sunset!
👉 8pm: Returning to the hotel and getting some rest
👉 9-11pm: Going out for a drink in “Zicatela” beach (optional)
👉 Spending the night in Puerto Escondido
Day 6 – December 28
👉 9am: Catching the bus to Oaxaca City (3-hour trip)
👉 12:30pm: Arriving at the hotel & checking in
👉 1-4pm: Walking around downtown & visiting the local market where we’re gonna try some local Oaxacan meat in a super Mexican scenery!
👉 5-7pm: Ending the day with an amazing sunset on the city’s best viewpoint
👉 8-10pm: Grabbing a drink in the city center (optional)
👉 Spending the night in Oaxaca City
Day 7 – December 29
👉 9:30am-12pm: Visit to ‘Hierve el Agua’, one of Oaxaca’s natural wonders. The entrance fee to the site is included, what’s not is the 30-minute hike needed to get there – totally worth it
👉 1-4pm: Visiting a local farm in Santiago Matatlan, the world’s Mezcal capital, to witness first hand how one of Mexico’s most famous distilled drinks is being made. We’re doing a mezcal tasting and having lunch in a super traditional scenery!
👉 5-8pm: Returning to Oaxaca for some rest or free time to explore
👉 Spending the night in Oaxaca City
Day 8 – December 30
👉 8am: Starting our trip back to Mexico City in a private van (6-hour trip)
👉 12:30-4pm: Short stop in the beautiful city of Puebla, walking around its colorful streets & trying the local cemitas! (food not included)
👉 4:30: Leaving for Mexico City
👉 7pm: Arriving in our hotel in Mexico City & checking in
👉 9-11pm: Going to a local salsa bar with live music to fresh up our latin moves (optional)
👉 Spending the night in Mexico City
Day 9 – December 31
👉 Day trip to Teotihuacan Pyramids led by our local guide Israel, including activities like:
- Driving around the pyramids on ATVs
- Visiting the ancient city of Teotihuacan, the pyramids & learning their history in detail
- Learning about the Maya, Mixtec, and Zapotec cultures
- Trying local sweets & drinks made out of the cactuses in the area
- Clay workshop – making our own statues/objects
- Exploring underground caves & taking epic photos
👉 7pm: Returning to our hotel in Mexico City & getting ready for New Year’s Eve
👉 9pm-1am: Changing the year in Mexico City’s main square & joining the celebrations!
👉 Spending the night in Mexico City
Day 10 – January 1
👉 10am-3pm: Visiting the majestic neighborhood of Frida Kahlo in Coyoacan & taking a stroll in the local market searching for the infamous ‘tostadas de camaron’. Visit to the Frida Kahlo museum is optional (food not included)
👉 4-8pm: Going back to the hotel for some rest or free time to explore
👉 8:30-11pm: Attending a spectacular Lucha Libre wrestling performance!
👉 Spending the night in Mexico City
Day 11 – January 2
👉 Checking out & saying goodbye – till next time!
👉 Fly back home 🙂
